Yesteryears Bollywood Jodis of 90s to re-unite in Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola
Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola is creating many waves around. Bollywood would be witnessing reunification of two leading filmi jodis on screen. After twenty years Pankaj Kapoor and Shabana Azami will be paired opposite each other. Not only this pair but the hit Jodi of Jeetendra and Hema Malini will reunify in Vishal’s movie.
A source from the film says, “When Bhardwaj approached Shabana to come on-board, she initially expressed her skepticism about the role she would play in the film.”
Pankaj Kapoor and Shabana Azmi shared the screen space together in 1992 flick ‘Ek Doctor Ki Maut’.
When we contacted Shabana, she confirmed, “I am a huge fan of Vishal’s work as a music composer and filmmaker. Yes, I am cast opposite Pankaj Kapoor. Technically, we’ve done two films together in the past. But I didn’t have any scenes with Pankaj in Mandi, like in Ek Doctor Ka Maut. Pankaj was absolutely brilliant in that. It’s always a pleasure to work with a challenging actor.”
Source also reveal that these days Shabana is going trough look tests for the movie. The source says, “She will sport a very unusual look in this comedy where nothing is as it seems.”
Interestingly enough Hema Malini and Jeetendra will also share screen space in KK Yadav’s Prodcution ‘Barbareek’. In this film, which will feature all the Mahabharat TV show actors, Jeetendra will reportedly play a devotee and Hema will essay the wife of Bheem, Hidamba.
Upon contact Yadav said, “I always wanted to work with these legendary actors and I am extremely delighted that both of them agreed to do my film. I normally do not go to studios and do films. But when Yadav approached me, I readily agreed. It has been a long time since Hema and I have done a film together and its always good working with old friends. But, the main reason I wanted to do the film was because I have a song, which is similar to the number Tune Mujhe Bulaya Sherawaliya from Asha.”
We await these jodis recreating their magic on screen!
