Though Sameera Reddy is busy with the responsibilities she has to bear being a brand ambassador of ‘Chennai Rhinos’ of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), yet she has found time to make debut in Kannada film industry.
Talking about CCL and her knowledge of cricket she says, “I didn’t know the nitty-gritty of cricket but I made it a point to understand what the game was all about before I ventured out. But now, I think I am pretty decent with my knowledge about cricket.”
However amidst all this responsibility she is making her debut in Kannada film. She says, “I am half Kannadiga. My mother is a Kannadiga and she would always tell me that I’ve acted in all languages except in Kannada. I have been getting a couple of offers from the Kannada film industry but I signed this particular project more for my mother.”
She is also doing a Bollywood film ‘Tezz’ with Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgan where she is flaunting a super fab body. Sameera reveals about her role, “I wore jackets, rode bikes and also did an underwater shoot where I was expected to remain under freezing cold water for two minutes. That was indeed quite challenging.”
In South Indian film industry this dusky beauty has made her big name. Sameera exults and says, “I have never thought of any project as too big or small. They’re all the same to me. When I began my career, my mother told me never to fake it on screen. People will grasp the difference. Always smile from your heart, she says, and I follow that till date.”
She is also Nagesh Kuknoor’s muse for next film ‘Yeh Hausla’. She is playing a rustic woman. She explains, “I wear a ghagra-choli and walk barefoot on sand. It was quite strenuous for me but nevertheless I enjoyed playing that role. It brought out a different side of me.”
Sameera is all praises for Tamil actress Jyothika and Simran. She praises them in these words, “They’ve both played every conceivable role and are still remembered for their work. That’s the kind of contribution I want to make.”
She is fond of cooking and trying her hands in cooking in spare time. She signs off saying, “I love cooking but only healthy meals. I used to make salads for my dad and soon that grew into a full-fledged hobby. I experiment and throw in whatever I think will go in to make a good dish.”
