With the rain so heavy, streets so empty; wind blows massively; trees swaying; a long white car sudden breaks and screeches at the bus stop; Rishi Kapoor turns down the windows and says – “tum shayad bheeg gayi ho, main tumhe jaanta toh nahi, par haan insaniyat ke naate tumhe ghar tak chodh zaroor sakta hoon!” camera zooms in on Neetu Singh; drenched in a salwar kameez; their eyes meet. Neetu asks – “tum ho kaun?” Rishi – “Filhaal mujhe tum ek doctor hi samajh lo, Jo tumhein is tez baarish se bachane aaya hai!” Neetu smiles and sits in the car. While they discuss the usual “aap kya karte hai, kaha rehte hai, shukriya aap nahi hote toh main ghar kaise pahonchti!”And they are about to reach Neetu’s house she invites him over for coffee. As they enter the house Rishi notices a wall filled with ‘Bollywood movie posters’. Rishi – “tum picturein dekhne ka showk rakhti ho, nahi? Tumhari favorite romantic movies kaunsi hai?” Neetu *blushing*– “ek ho toh batau!” Rishi –“banda sunne ke liye haazir hai, coffee nahi pilaogi!” The two of them got so engrossed with their bollywood love, I shall narrate it further.

9. Jab We Met (2007)
“Koi doubt mat rakhna dil mein, Sikhni hoon mein Bhatinda ki” Jab We Met, a fantastic original love story by Imtiaz Ali.
The movie is highly different from the usual cliché’s. This love story has been by far the most unique concepts and extremely well made. Geet Kaur’s character is played by the utmost pretty Kareena Kapoor; who is a typical loud, talkative ‘punjaban’; she is on her way back home to Bhatinda where her family is. In the train she happens to come across this devastated young man Aditya Kashyap (Shahid Kapoor); who doesn’t respond to anything Geet asks him. He does not know where he’s going, she tries to help him; but he asks her to mind her own business and leave him alone. He gets down at a random station and she follows him; in return she misses her train with all her luggage. He manages to reach her to the train somehow; and she misses that one as well. She insists to be dropped to Bhatinda. They manage to reach Bhatinda with a little difficulty and there her family asks Aditya to wait back for a few days. Her family is very friendly and Geet’s sister (Roop) doubts Aditya and her. Her family had fixed her wedding with their close family friend’s son. Before the engagement could be finalized she elopes with Aditya to get to Manali’ where her love Anshuman is. Aditya drops her safely there and realizes he has fallen in love with her but does not confess and leaves. Anshuman does not accept Geet then as he was scared of his family. Hence Geet did not return home; she began to live a life of a nun and was a teaching children to kill her time. After Nine months Geet’s brothers reach Aditya’s office and find out Geet is not with him. Surprised Aditya leaves in search of Geet and finds out what happened. He consoles her and supports her to come out of her trauma and she figures he really likes her. Just then Anshuman enters and apologizes to her; pleads for forgiveness and asks her to get married to him now. Geet being skeptical agrees and yet again Aditya takes the responsibility to drop her home and get them married. When they return to Bhatinda; the family mistakes Aditya as her husband and prepare for the official wedding for them. Geet tries to talk to her family that it’s Anshuman who she wants to get married to; but fails to.. Anshuman is confused as to what is happening. Geet finally realizes Aditya is the man for her and they eventually get married. The movie is hilarious and warm too.
The performances are breath taking. No one could adhere to kareena’s role as she did and Shahid a perfect match for the business tycoon. This romantic comedy a total rage among the teenagers and did well among all age groups.
Excellently scripted, well planned plots, awesome music, unforgettable dialogues. The movie won around 20 awards. A power packed entertainer with great on screen chemistry among the two.

Meanwhile Aditi bumps into Meghna and gets to know Jai and she broke up; while Aditi is facing issues with Sushant; in a heated argument he slaps her. Jai gets to know and gets back to Sushant as to how dare he raise his hand on her. Jai being a ‘Rathod’ is supposedly to be rebellious, but his mother does not want him to be like his father. Hence she makes up stories that his father was a peace loving man, he hated violence. Aditi decides to go abroad to study; basically run away from the situation and Jai stops her at the airport and proposes to her. A sweet love story of two youngsters who happen to grow together facing certain situations; from which they learn. The characters are played well, the story is well written, a fresh romantic film.
All the movies are categorized under Romantic favorites; though each movie has its own essence. The way Indian Cinema has grown over the years is remarkable bringing us such classics to watch; indeed a delight. Few of the stories are based on real life incidents; some are imaginary but yet touched the hearts of many. Love stories are not necessarily to be serious dramas but can be light comedies as well; a variety of which bollywood is well known for. A romantic movie can have different aspects to it, which are well described in the above ten.
They do not love that do not show their love. The course of true love never did run smooth. Love is a familiar. Love is a devil. There is no evil angel but Love.
